Tactics to fish in the Sea from a boat in Wales
If your Sea Fishing trip involves the use of a Charter boat the vast majority of skippers operating out of Welsh ports have years of experience. The tactics used are completely dependent on venue, species targetted, weather, tides, time of year and even personal preference. It is important for you to contact the skipper of your boat before the day of the trip if you are looking to bring your own tackle and need some guidance on exactly what is needed. It is pointless to discover that a piece of kit considered essential locally is left ashore when you are 3 miles offshore.
As for essentials, ensure you have plenty of warm and waterproof clothing with you. The weather can change quickly at sea and there is nothing more certain to ruin a fishing trip than suffering from being wet or cold.
If fishing in Summer always take a peaked or wide brimmed hat and plenty of sunblock. The sun will reflect off the sea and will burn the thickest of unprotected hides in notime. Remember to have plenty of clothing also, a scorching day at the sea shore can soon become cold or wet when the boat is several miles offshore.
