Hi, I’m Gwilym Hughes of ‘G. H. Sporting ’, I am proprietor and ‘sole operator’ working out of Corwen in North Wales, specialising in one to one and small group instruction in all aspects of ‘Game Angling’
Experience
In one way or another I have been involved in Angling for the past 45years and am the holder of the ‘Salmon and Trout Association Certificate’ in, Salmon, Trout and Flydressing and ‘Game Angling Instructors Association’s’, qualification of ‘Advanced Professional Game Angling Instructor’ in Salmon, Trout and other species and Flydressing. I am a member of AAPGAI. I am also a Level 2 Coach Tutor, Internal and External Assessor for the Salmon and Trout Association in conjunction with 1st4sport and Sports Coach UK, hold a current First Aid certificate and am ‘Good Practice and Child Protection trained’ also CRB checked. I am currently the Chairman of the ‘North Wales Branch Salmon and Trout Association’ and also the Chairman of the Standards and Practices Committee of the ‘Game Angling Instructors Association’. I have been a regular contributor to ‘Fly Fishing and Fly Tying’ magazine and also ‘Trout Fisherman’. I have also completed nine one-hour Fly fishing programmes available on Video and DVD.
Actual fishing experience, is varied, but competitively, I have represented Wales as an International on seventeen occasions over a period of 22 years, winning the Lakes ‘International Champion’ in 1983 on Loch Hurray in Orkney and the River’s ‘International Champion’ in 1994 on the River Tweed in Scotland, the first to have achieved the double in the history of the International Home Countries competition

Tuition
I have access to ‘Private’ fishing and ‘ Day Ticket’ water on the River Dee for Salmon/ Sea-trout / Trout and Grayling. I have access to ‘Chirk Small Water Fishery’ and also can arrange outings at Llyn Brenig, Lake Vyrnwy, Llyn Tal y Llyn and Trawsfynydd Lake also to ‘Private’ mountain Lakes for Trout and at certain times ‘Pike on Fly’, other North Wales Rivers by arrangement and costal area’s in pursuit of ‘Bass’.
