Talyllyn and Bugeulyn
In May I visited Gwynedd on a fishing trip. Based in the Tyn-y-cornel Hotel, I took a boat the first day at the stunning Tal-y-llyn and a second at the remote Llyn Bugeilyn. The first was a slightly damp, windy day but the excellent hatch of olives ensured consistent sport throughout. Approximately 20 fish to 1 3/4 lbs (including an early sewin) were taken on a floating line. At Llyn Bugeilyn the sport was just as frantic and I lost count of how many fish were caught. The largest was around 1/2 lb and I probably hooked a fish every two or three takes. I can't wait to return in September.
